MOPI Welcome - Block D

Innovation Team @OCTO

The Mayor's Office of Innovation is now the Innovation Team @OCTO (Office of the Chief Technology Officer). This exciting change enhances our commitment to innovation by combining our team with OCTO's extensive resources, technology expertise, and data-driven approach.

Originally established with support from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Innovation Team has a proven track record of applying public sector innovation principles to enhance government service delivery. Our core process remains the same: we frame problems, conduct research, brainstorm ideas, create prototypes, test solutions, and measure their impact.

We deeply value our ongoing partnerships with Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University. These collaborations will continue to flourish as we leverage our new position within OCTO.

About the Innovation Team @OCTO

The Innovation Team @OCTO collaborates across District Government and with our intergovernmental partners. We provide tools and techniques that are raising the bar for government performance.

Equity

Central to our work is a two-way dialogue with residents across the District, including those historically underrepresented in decision-making. By including diverse perspectives, we develop solutions that can be implemented in communities and lead to measurable impact.
